Roles & Responsibilities

Role: Advisory Member

Responsibilities

  1. To suggest measures for improvement of research and development activities in the organization.

  2. To provide expert advice and guidance in motivating faculty members towards engaging in research activities.

  3. To help in outlining methods for improving the quality of research and promote inter disciplinary research and developmental activities.

  4. To facilitate coordination with external members/bodies.

Role : Coordinator

Responsibilities

  1. To coordinate between the various departments of the Institute and appraise them regarding policy matters.

  2. To summarize the research and development information at the Institute level for each academic year.

  3. To analyze the research data towards qualitative as well as quantitative assessment

  4. To convene periodic meetings to discuss the analysis of data and summarize plan of action suggested by all departments for further improvement.

  5. To promote and encourage inter-disciplinary research activities in the Institute.

  6. To facilitate coordination with internal committees like IIPC, EDC, etc. for promoting research & development at departmental level.

  7. To summarize research directions in which various events may be organized to facilitate awareness & learning about emerging domains.

  8. To coordinate funded project proposals from departments for consideration of possible funding in consultation with all members of the cell and as per guidance of advisory member.

Role: Departmental faculty member

Responsibilities

  1. To act as the single point of contact between others members of the department and the cell.

  2. To appraise the HoD on policy related matters for following up on suggested plan of action and recommendations by the cell.

  3. To motivate & encourage other departmental faculty members to initiate and/or continue research through good quality publications, sponsored research projects, consultancy, product developments, etc.

  4. To motivate students through mentors and interact with them to identify some key domains of R&D pertaining to a specific department.

  5. To help in coordination of funded research proposals at departmental level.

  6. To summarize the research and development information at the department level for each academic year.

  7. To analyze the research data towards qualitative as well as quantitative assessment.

  8. To provide information regarding upcoming academic events in their respective departments.
