Staff Grievance Welfare Committee

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Chairperson:

    1. Chairman in presence of Coordinator and Committee members should hear the grievances personally.

    2. Conduct preliminary informal discussions with persons contacting the Committee with respect to potential formal grievances.

    3. Decides whether a Subcommittee of the Committee should be appointed to cover the matter in greater depth.

    4. Take conclusive decision and submit recommendations for removal of alleged grievances.

    5. Meet members on regular interval and ensure that Staff Grievance Welfare mechanism is rightly followed.

  2. Coordinator:

    1. Study the petition and after looking into the relevant documents discuss with those concerned and submit its recommendations and report to the Chairperson as expeditiously as possible.

    2. Communicate with the grievant on a regular basis in order to assess the current state of the case.

    3. Create awareness about Staff Grievance Welfare mechanism among all members of staff.

    4. To inquire into the grievances in consultation with the committee members and make recommendations and report to the Chairperson for suitable action.

    5. Work towards recognizing achievers and create opportunities for self development of individual members of staff.

    6. Maintenance of records of all grievances, minutes of meeting, welfare measures etc.

    7. Conduct Committee meeting on regular intervals to discuss over various developments and issues pertaining to staff grievance and welfare.

  3. Committee Members:

    1. Meet at the direction of the chair, most usually when the chair has been notified of a grievance that should be heard.

    2. Hear representations by the persons directly involved in grievances and advise adjustment by the administration when appropriate.

    3. Work as a point of contact to the members of staff and the Grievance Welfare committee.
