IET-UK Student Chapter

On 17th March, 2011, the student chapter of IET, UK was held launched at B.P.Poddar Institute of Management & Technology, Kolkata. The Institution of Engineering and Technology, Uk, a global community of the erudite and the enthusiasts was conceived through an amalgamation of The Institution of \ Electrical Engineers (IEE) and the IIE (Institution of corporate engineers) in 2006, with a mission to connect together a network of creativity, innovation and expertise in the fields of learning and teaching and use this collective power to change the face of education.

Institution of Engineering & Technology (UK) popularly known as IET(UK) is a international professional society. The IET is one of the world’s largest engineering institutions with Over 168,000 members in 150 countries. It is also the most multidisciplinary – to reflect the increasingly diverse nature of engineering in the 21st century.

B.P. Poddar Institute of Management & Technology organised an “On Campus Membership Drive Program” on 25 th August 2017. 56 students from 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd year registered them as a member of IET(UK). Former Chairman (IET Kolkata Network) Prof. Jayanta Kumar Roy delivered small briefings on the activity of IET Kolkata Network and the advantage of being a student member of IET. Also he delivered small lectures on IOT.

The IET Student Chapter, BPPIMT has always aimed at preparing students and providing them with that extra edge for success in the professional world they step into. The chapter offers a plethora of opportunities to its student body to hone their technical skills and with a speedy growth, BPPIMT has now gone on to become the 2nd largest on campus student chapter in the state.

IET Student Chapter, BPPIMT have been actively involved in organising various activities, events to cater technical nourishment of its members. Moreover the members also participated in different workshop, seminar organised by IET KLN or other Student Chapter of the state.

PATW Competition

PATW, Present Around the World, a global competition on technical presentation. It is basically organized globally by IET(UK). It was an honor to host the PATW2018 Kolkata Local Network Final and PATW2019 pre Final round in BPPIMT Campus on 28th April, 2018 and 30th March 2019 respectively at institute seminar hall.

Technical Quiz Tech Enquesta An Inter-collage Technical quiz competition

It is an innovative initiative of the students chapter to promote the zeal of technology among the students. At the first step basic selection was done through a written test. Qualified candidates then selected for the next round and ultimately winners were declared.
