NSS Cell

The following are the different activities organized by NSS-SFU, BPPIMT during 2016-2018 :

  1. Women’s Day celebration on 8th March, 2016
    a power point presentation showing the contribution of women achievers of India was displayed at seminar hall, Block-B.

  2. Blood Donation Camp on 30th March, 2016
    was organized in association with National Medical College & Hospital and N.R.S Medical College & Hospital at Block-C of the Institute. A total of 164 units of blood were donated by the Faculty & Staffs and Students of the Institute.

  3. Earth Day celebration on 22nd April, 2016
    in which poster and photography competition was organized to create awareness about importance to conserve the resources. The winners of the competition were selected through voting and felicitated with a memento and certificate.

  4. World No Tobacco Day, 2016 awareness campaign on 31st May 2016
    NSS volunteers of the cell provided bookmarks to the Faculty & Staffs and to the common people outside the college. To create awareness among people NSS cell members & volunteers shouted slogans and showed placards in front of the Institue as well as provided bookmarks to the public against the usage of Tobacco in any form.

  5. International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2016
    The day was celebrated by organizing a yoga session for Faculty & Staffs to inspire them to practice Yoga.

  6. Independence Day Celebration, 2016
    During the day, Flag hoisting ceremony was organized within the Institute premises. The Principal Madam hoisted our National flag and distributed sweets.

  7. Sadbhavana Diwas Day, 2016
    “Sadbhavana Diwas or Harmony Day 2016” on 20th August 2016 was observed to encourage all the Faculty & Staffs and students to work for peace, national integrity, love, affection and communal harmony. To highlight the event "Street Play" was performed by our students to create awareness about the national integrity and communal harmony.

  8. Swachh Bharat Pakhwada, 2016
    NSS Unit of the Institute observed “Swachh Bharat Pakhwada, 2016” to create awareness about cleanliness and sanitation by organizing different competitions like Group Presentation, Essay Writing, Poster and T-shirt painting competitions on 23rd September 2016 (Friday) among First Year Students. The winners of the competitions were felicitated with certificate.

  9. Plantation of Saplings on NSS Day, 24th September, 2016
    NSS day was celebrated by the volunteers through plantation of saplings. The Principal Madam inaugurated the program by planting a sapling. A total of thirty one saplings were planted within the institute.

  10. Vigilance Awareness Week, 2016
    “Vigilance Awareness Week” was observed by our Institute from 31st October, 2016 to 5th November, 2016 by organizing various events like Drawing & Essay Competitions in association with Airport Authority of India (AAI) & Literary and Visual Arts Forum among the students of the Institute to promote integration and eradication of corruption. In this regard, NSS cell in association with Orator’s Forum of the Institute organized a "Debate Competition” among students on 5th November, 2016. In addition to that “Citizen Integrity Pledge” taking ceremony for students and Faculty & Staff was also organized as per AICTE instruction to prevent and combat corruption.

  11. The Constitution Day on 26th November, 2016
    Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas, was celebrated by NSS unit of the institute to honor the constitution of a country, to spread the importance of the constitution and to spread thoughts and ideas of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. On this day Faculty and Staff members have taken the pledge when Principal Madam read out the “Preamble” of the constitution of India.

  12. Cancer Awareness Program on 7th March, 2017
    Cancer Awareness Program – NSS Unit in association with Visual Art Forum of the Institute organized “Cancer Awareness Program” on 07th March 2017 (Tuesday). The program starts with “Sketch Competition” among students on the theme “Fight Against Cancer” at 11.30 a.m. At 2.30 p.m. delegates from HITAISHINI (a voluntary non-profit Breast Cancer Support Network) delivered lecture on Cancer at Seminar Hall, Block-B. Got good response from both students and Faculty & Staff members. The delegates shared/elaborated their knowledge and experiences in dealing with Breast Cancer survivors and demonstrated about the procedure for self-examination to identify the cancer. Twenty three participants were participated in the sketching competition and the winners were judged and declared by the delegates.

  13. Orientation Program on 8th March 2017
    Institute organized NSS orientation Program on 8th March 2017. The orientation program was organized on foundation day of NSS cell during which an oral presentation was delivered to create awareness about NSS cell and 43 new NSS volunteers from present First year students of all the six streams were enrolled.

  14. 70 years of Independence and 75 years of Quit India Movement
    Students, staff and faculty members of B.P. Poddar Institute of Management & Technology, Kolkata took a pledge on 9th August 2017 at Institute to Celebrate 70 years of Independence and 75 years of Quit India Movement to build a new India – free from corruption, casteism, communalism, poverty and terrorism by 2022.

  15. International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2017
    The day was celebrated by organizing a yoga session for Faculty & Staffs to inspire them to practice Yoga. A Yoga expert was invited to teach yoga to the Faculty & Staffs of the Institute. More than seventy Faculty & Staffs participated and practiced Yoga in that session.

  16. Independence Day Celebration
    During the day, Flag hoisting ceremony was organized within the Institute premises. NSS volunteers, Faculty & Staffs, Security were presented on that day. The Principal Madam hoisted our National flag and distributed sweets.

  17. Sadbhavana Diwas Day, 19th August, 2017
    “Sadbhavana Diwas or Harmony Day 2016” on 20th August 2016 was observed in association with “Kalakriti – Performing Arts Forum” to encourage all the Faculty & Staffs and students to work for peace, national integrity, love, affection and communal harmony. To highlight the event “Stage Play” was performed by our students and a video was displayed to create awareness about the national integrity and communal harmony.

  18. Swachh Bharat Pakhwada, 1st - 15th September, 2017

    As per AICTE direction, NSS unit of the institute observes Swachhata Pakhwada to spreads the message of cleanliness. NSS volunteers have undertaken awareness program among public through their campaign and cleanliness drive at selected Slums, Urban areas, students hostel (both Boys and Girls), Institute premises etc. Further NSS unit of the Institute campaigned all Faculty & Staffs to spread the message of cleanliness and do follow the Swach Bharat Abhiyan at their own premises, department, office, schools & neighbourhood.

  19. A Voluntary Blood Donation Camp, on 14th October 2017

    NSS unit of BPPIMT organised a voluntary blood donation camp on October 14, 2017, in association with National Medical College at the VIP road campus of the Institute. Total 117 units of blood was donated by the students, faculty & staff members of the institute.

  20. Vigilance Awareness Week, from 30th October 2017 to 4th November, 2017

    As per the direction from AICTE and Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), the Vigilance Awareness Week was observed by NSS unit of the Institute from 30th October, 2017 to 4th November, 2017. The observance of the Vigilance Awareness Week was commenced with the “Integrity Pledge” taking ceremony for Faculty & Staffs and Students of the Institute. Further concerted efforts towards disseminating and publicizing have been taken through placing banners within the Institute premises and through notification in website. On 31st October, 2017, NSS Unit in association with Literary Forum of the Institute has organised an Essay Writing competition on the theme - “My Vision - Corruption Free India” among students to inculcate awareness on corruption and anti-corruption measures. Many students had participated in the competition and the winners of the competition was awarded with a memento and certificate.

  21. International Women’s Day Celebration, 8th March 2018

    NSS Cell of the Institute celebrated “International Women’s Day” on 8th March, 2018 at Seminar Hall, Block-B at 4.30 p.m. The celebration was started with recitation of poems both (Hindi and English) regarding women empowerment and ended with group cultural dance performance by NSS volunteers. Faculty & staffs and students have participated in the event.

  22. Eye Screening Camp, on 7th and 8th March, 2018

    NSS cell and Medical Assistance Cell of the Institute jointly organized a free “Eye Screening Camp” in our Institution in association with ASG Eye Hospitals, Kolkata on 7th and 8th March, 2018 for the benefit of all Students, Faculty & Staff members . During the camp, facilities like a free Pre Q-Lasik Screening for those who are not willing to wear spectacles or contact lens, computerized eye testing through AR, vision check and subjective refraction, retinoscopy, counseling were provided to the participants. Also complimentary eye screening coupons extended to four family members was provided by the hospital to the beneficiaries of the camp. Around 195 beneficiaries participated on the day of the camp.

  23. International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2018

    NSS cell of B.P. Poddar Institute of Management & Technology, 137, V.I.P. Road, Kolkata - 52 observed International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2018 at the Institute premises. To highlight the day a "Yoga Session" was organized to encourage all the Faculty & Staff members of the Institute to practice yoga. Many Faculty and Staff members have participated in the session and practiced yoga as instructed by Yoga Experts of the Institute. The participants have also taken pledge to practice yoga regularly.

  24. Independence Day Celebration

    BPPIMT observed the 72nd Independence Day on 15th August, 2018. NSS cell of the Institute organized the event at Institute premises. Flag hoisting ceremony was done at 9 a.m.

  25. Sadbhavana Diwas Day, 21st August, 2018

    NSS Unit of the institute organised Sadbhavana Diwas day celebration on 21st August 2018. NSS Volunteers have performed a Skit at Seminar Hall to create awareness on Communal Harmony among students and Faculty & Staffs.

  26. Vigilance Awareness Week, 29th October, 2018

    As per the direction from Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) and AICTE, the Vigilance Awareness Week would be observed from 29th October, 2018 to 3rd November, 2018 in our Institute. In this regard, all the students, Faculty and staff members are requested to take the integrity e-pledge by visiting the website https://pledge.cvc.nic.in during the week.

  27. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, 31st October, 2018

    Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2018, the National Unity Day was observed by the NSS UNIT of the Institute on 31st October 2018. The Biography of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, The Iron Man of India who was instrumental in keeping India United was shown to students to impart Unity among them. Students & Staffs of the Institute have taken e-pledge to foster and reinforce our dedication to preserve and strengthen unity, integrity and security of our Nation on this birthday anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

  28. The launch of Drug Free India campaign, 19th February 2019

    NSS cell in association with Art of Living live webcasted "The launch of Drug Free India campaign" from the state of Haryana in our Institute on 19th February 2019. A total of 332 students participated in the program and have taken pledge ("Na Karengae and Na karne dhenge").

  29. Voluntary Blood donation camp, 23rd February, 2019

    NSS cell and Medical Assistance Cell of the Institute in association with National Medical College & Hospitals and N.R.S Medical College & Hospitals organized a Voluntary Blood donation camp on 23rd February, 2019. A total of 127 units of blood were donated by the Faculty & Staffs and Students of the Institute.

  30. A session on "Stress Management and Mind Matters", 10th April, 2019

    NSS Cell and Mentoring & Counselling committee organized a session on “Stress Management and Mind Matters” in association with “The Art of Living” on April 10, 2019. Around 75 students attended the program. Ms. Ritika, Faculty of Art of Living interacted with the students regarding stress management.

  31. Water Conservation Campaign, 20th July, 2019

    Water is boon. Water is life. Without water nothing can survive. So save water. Don't waste it. Reserve it for our future.- As per communication from AICTE, Jal Divas is celebrated all over the country on 22nd July 2019 to create awareness on water conservation. In this regard, the NSS cell of our Institute organised a "Water Conservation Campaign " on 20th July 2019. More than 30 volunteers and Faculty & Staffs participated in the Rally. Volunteers spread the message of importance of water conservation through posters and bookmark messages among public.

  32. Independence Day Celebration

    NSS cell of the Institute celebrated 73rd Independence Day of our nation. The Principal madam hoisted our Tricolour at 9.30 a.m. All the students and staffs saluted the flag and sang National anthem. At the end sweets were distributed to the students and staff members.

  33. Sadbhavana Diwas Day, 22st August, 2019

    The NSS cell in association with the Performing arts forum: Kalakriti Celebrated Sadbhavna Divas with fervour and enthusiasm. A Grand cultural function was organised with the theme of national harmony. The programme started with an opening song followed by a group dance and ended with a social drama. The performance of the students as well as smooth conduction of the event by the organising team of NSS volunteers were applauded by the audience.

  34. Vigilance Awareness Week, 28th October, 2019

    As per direction from the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) and AICTE, the Vigilance Awareness Week would be observed by the Institute from 28th October, 2019 to 2nd November, 2019. In this regard, NSS Cell, Literary (SRjanA) & Visual Arts (Drshyam) Forum of the Institute in association with the Airport Authority of India (AAI), Kolkata jointly organized Essay Writing & Drawing competition on 25th October 2019 to inculcate honesty and transparency among students. Students participated in the events with enthusiasm and Solemnly took the Integrity pledge as well.

  35. Matribhasha Diwas (International Mother Language Day), 20th February, 2020

    Matribhasha Diwas (International Mother Language Day) was observed by the Institute on 20th February 2020. Essay writing and Collage competition was jointly organized by NSS cell, Literary and Visual Arts Forum on the eve of celebration. Around fifty students participated in the event on "Linguistic and Cultural Diversity of our Country".

  36. The World Environment Day, 5th June, 2020

    The NSS Cell of BPPIMT organized and celebrated The World Environment Day on 5th June by holding a Competition on Innovation, “Yenilik” whose theme was “Celebrate Biodiversity”.
    A Hand-drawn poster as well as a Digital Competition was organized for the students.
    The competition received a huge response with 88 active participants. The theme being Celebrating Biodiversity and considering the current pandemic, the students came up with many artistic and innovative concepts and artwork.
    In each category three students were awarded the best Digital and Hand-drawn submission, but as the saying goes “It’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game” – Grantland Rice Yenilik revealed a different side of the students and their perception of Environment, thereby making the event and the competition a grand success.

  37. Sadbhavana Diwas, 30th August, 2020

    On the occasion of Sadbhavana Diwas, NSS(SFU) Unit of BPPIMT organised a cultural programme on 30th August 2020. The program was streamed live on social media platforms like Gmeet, Facebook and Youtube.The dire situation of covid pandemic could not deter the NSS team from uniting virtually and putting up a grand function on the online platform. NSS volunteers created awareness about national integrity, love & affection and communal harmony through their cultural performance. At the end of the programme, our Principal Madam, Prof. (Dr.) Sutapa Mukherjee Madam announced with great pleasure that our Institution is being listed as one of the "Swachh Institutions of the Country" and has been received a "Certificate for Recognized Social Entrepreneurship, Swachhta & Rural Engagement Cell (SES REC) Institution" from Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, on the same day and congratulated all the volunteers of NSS(SFU)-BPPIMT unit for the same. The NSS team is determined to carry on their good work with the motto they always follow: NOT ME BUT YOU.

  38. World No Tobacco Day, 31st May, 2021

    NSS cell of BPPIMT has organized an online pledge-taking ceremony to observe "World No Tobacco Day" on 31st May 2021. On this occasion, Faculty & Staff members, students, and NSS volunteers have taken the pledge that they shall never use tobacco in any form and motivate their family or acquaintances for the same.

  39. International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2021

    NSS cell has also organized an online yoga session at 9 a.m. on 21st June 2021 for all faculty, staff, and students. Two of our Institute faculties, Ms. Rashmita Mishra and Ms. Sushmita Biswas, have conducted the session performing different Asanas and ended the session with Meditation. Many Student volunteers, faculty, and staff members practiced different asanas and meditations enthusiastically.

    The NSS Cell and Orator's Forum: Vaani organised a debate competition on the eve of 7th International Day of Yoga, 21st June 2021 on the topic "Yoga is the vaccine for all diseases" Eight Finalists of the event were selected from a prelims round held earlier. To encourage the students to express themselves in their own language the event was open in vernacular languages too. The final debating session was a thrilling one with every finalist putting forth their well researched points for and against the motion with full conviction. Finally Top three debaters were chosen:
    Winner: Ritesh Raman, CSE 3rd year
    1st Runner Up: Shubham Jha, CSE 2nd year
    2nd Runner Up: Aruja Mukherjee, IT 3rd year
    The session was attended by Faculty members, staff and students and unanimously enjoyed by everyone.

  40. Independence Day Celebration

    NSS Cell of the Institute organised the 75th Independence Day Flag hoisting ceremony within the Institute premises. The Principal Madam hoisted our National flag and distributed sweets.

  41. Vigilance Awareness Week, 1st November, 2021

    Vigilance awareness week 2021 debate Competition On the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week 2021, the NSS Cell and the Orator's Forum in association with the Airports Authority of India, organised a debate Competition. The Competition was divided into 2 rounds, the top 8 debaters from the prelims battled it out in an online live final round. The Topic was " Integrity and non-corruption is a must to achieve self reliance in India". The Winners announced at the end of the online event were:
    1st: Shreya Dhar, CSE 1st year
    2nd: Riddhi Agarwal ECE 1st year
    3rd: Vidisha Yagnik CSE 1st year
    On behalf of the BPPIMT family, we congratulate all the Winners and the Participants.

    Vigilance Awareness Week 2021 Drawing Competition NSS cell of the Institute observed Vigilance Awareness Week from 26th October 2021 to 1st November 2021. Around 175 students and NSS volunteers of the Institute have taken the citizen e-integrity pledge to participate in the prevention of corruption, support the fight against corruption, be vigilant and commit to highest standards of honesty and integrity all the time. On the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week, the NSS Cell and the Visual Arts Forum of the Institute in association with the Airports Authority of India, organised an online drawing Competition on the theme "Independent India @75: Self Reliance with Integrity''. We had received overwhelming students participation in the competition to create awareness to make corruption free and Self Reliant India.

  42. Republic Day Celebration

    NSS Cell of the Institute celebrated Republic Day. Our Principal mam hoisted our National Flag. The flag hoisting ceremony was streamed live. Faculty/Staff and students have participated virtually and paid tribute to our National Flag. As a part of the program, a video of the National War Memorial was streamed online to pay tribute to our Indian Armed Forces.

  43. International Women’s Day Celebration

    As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, NSS Cell in association with Performing Arts Forum of the Institute has organized an online Celebration of International Women’s Day on 8th March, 2022. The students and volunteers of NSS cell have graced the occasion with their cultural performance (like dance, singing, drama) and power point presentation dedicated to uplifting women and honoring their achievements. Around 200 Nos. of Faculty & staffs and students have participated in the event.

  44. Earth Day 2022 Celebration

    NSS Cell of the Institute in association with Institution’s Innovation Council (Ministry of HRD Initiative) organized “Drawing Competition” to celebrate “Earth Day 2022” on 22nd April 2022. The theme of the competition is “Invest in Our Planet”. The participants hand-drawn creatives were displayed for viewers for Ballot Paper Voting to select the winners of the competition. Around 160 Faculty & staff and students visited the gallery.

  46. International Yoga Day Celebration

    NSS cell of this Institute has organized a Yoga Session on International Day of Yoga - 2022. Students, Faculty & Staff members of the various departments have actively participated and performed Yoga as instructed by the Yoga instructor of BPPIMT, Ms. Rashmisa Mishra, Assistant Professor, Electronics and Communication Engineering. The program ended with a meditation session conducted by another Yoga instructor of this Institute, Dr. Susmita Biswas, Assistant Professor, Electronics and Communication Engineering.

  47. Har Ghar Tiranga campaign

    On the Occasion of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, our National Flag was hoisted in our Institute by NSS Volunteers. Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign by Faculty & Staff Members of our Institute.

  48. Cultural Event for the celebration of 75th Independence Day and to promote the Har Ghar Trianga campaign

    NSS Cell and Performing Arts Forum (Kalakriti) of the Institute has organized a Cultural Event for the celebration of 75th Independence Day and to promote the Har Ghar Trianga campaign. Our Principal Madam addressed the Faculty & Staff Members and students on the occasion and urged them to work for peace and prosperity of the Nation. NSS volunteers paid tribute to martyrs,recited patriotic poems, patriotic songs, dance performances depicting the importance of Independent India and Unity.

  49. Independence Day Celebration

    NSS Cell of the Institute has organized Flag hoisting cermony at our Institute. Principal Mam hoisted our National Flag and distributed sweets to the Participants.

  50. Dengue Awareness Program

    NSS cell in association with Medical Assistance Cell have organized “Dengue Awareness Program” in our institution on 24th September,2022. Our Insitute Physician Mr. Anindya Sen delivered an Awareness talk and sharedwith the audience the safety guidelines to prevent from Dengue.

  51. Sadbhavana Diwas Celebration

    NSS cell in association with Performing Arts Forum (Kalakriti) of the Institute celebrated Sadbhavana Diwas on 26th August 2022 in our Institute. Around 60 students have performed in the cultural program viz. singing, dancing and drama (performed by our Institute Rangamancha Drama team) and created awareness among the audience about the importance of harmony and unity. More than 170 Faculty & staff and students participated in the celebration and have enjoyed the performances. NSS cell and Performing arts forum of the Institute appreciates and thank our Alumni students from Rangamancha Drama team for guiding their junior students to perform in the Drama.

  53. Vigilance Awareness Week, 2022

    As per Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), the Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed by the Institute from 31st October 2022 to 6th November 2022. The observance of the Vigilance Awareness Week commenced with the “Citizen Integrity Pledge” taken by students. NSS Cell, Visual Arts and Orators Forum of the Institute in association with the Airport Authority of India (AAI), Kolkata jointly organized Drawing and Debate competition to inculcate honesty and transparency among students on 2nd November 2022 (Wednesday).The theme for both the competition is “Corruption free India for a developed Nation”. In the drawing competition 16 Nos. of students participated and In the debate competition 9 Nos. of students participated.
