  • Institute students’ team comprising of Sayandip Bhattacharyya, Rahul Sinha and Parthiv Modak from Department of Computer Science & Engineering secured a position in top 3 out of 400+ teams in SAP ICOE Hackathon 2024, organized by International Center of Excellence for AI, Data Science and Futuristic technologies in association with SAP community Kolkata. The event held during 4th to 27th April. Students received their certificate on 27th April 2024 at the Biswa Bangla Convention Center.


  • Institutes 25-year long journey has been appreciated by a prestigious award by The Times of India for Academic excellence and superlative placement records on 24th August 2023. Founder trusty and director, Dr. Subir Chowdhury received the award from Rowan Einsworth, Consulate General, Australian embassy along with principal Prof. Dr. Sutapa Mukherjee and registrar, Dr. Subhashis Pradhan. This award is morale booster of the institute and will be a great source of motivation.
  • Debmalya Banerjee, B. Tech(EE) 2004 batch & former President of BPPIMT Alumni Association, received National Award for his contribution to Indian industry. An Electrical Engineer by education, he is the Regional Director (North, South India & Africa) of Indian Chamber of Commerce, based in New Delhi.
  • Team PentiumReboot from B. P. Poddar Institute of Management and Technology wins first prize at Smart India Hackathon 2020. Team PentiumReboot from BPPIMT participated in Final Round of Smart India Hackathon 2020 from 01.08.2020 to 03.08.2020. The institute is proud and happy for the students in the team PentiumReboot comprising of Suman Chakraborty (Team Leader – ECE 3rd Year) Subhajit Laha (ECE 3rd Year), Gautam Kumar (ECE 3rd Year), Anamika Choudhury ( CSE 3rd Year), Soumili Sarkar (ECE 3rd Year) and Torsa Saha (ECE 3rd Year). They developed a Mobile based Inventory Management System using QR code application, Problem Code AK12 for Airports Authority of India.
  • BPPIMT student steam DEXTEROUS_SQUAD comprising of Mohammed Azib (Team Leader, CSE 3rd Year), Gaurav Jaiswal (CSE 3rd Year), Kirath Kanak (CSE 3rd Year), Kishor Kumar Mahto (CSE 3rd Year), Murtaza Hussaini Sadriwala (CSE 3rd Year) and Anisha Palit (ECE 3rd Year) winner of first prize at Smart India Hackathon 2019 solving the problem for ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. They developed “SMART LIGHTNING PREDICTOR AND ALERT SYSTEM” – an android app and a web portal for registering a farmer and their field location. Lightning will be predicted based upon forecast from IMD together with AQI and Lightning density of the location. The predicted information will be communicated to farmers via phone call, message and whatsapp message(if available) in national/regional language beforehand.
  • Team “Delta” from B. P. Poddar Institute of Management and Technology declared winner at Bengalathon – A Technology based competition, an initiative by Department of Information Technology & Electronics, Govt. of West Bengal on 8th February 2019 at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Kolkata. The team members are Debadri Chowdhury (CSE 4th year), Arnab Ghosh (CSE 4th year) and Aman Verma (ECE 4th year).
  • Team UIDAI9 from B. P. Poddar Institute of Management and Technology Wins 1st Prize in Smart India Hackathon 2018 ( A joint initiative by MHRD, AICTE, i4C, and Persistent Systems) Software Edition FINAL at Panipat, Hariyana on March 31,2018. Team UIDAI9 from BPPIMT comprising of team members – Rwik Kumar Dutta (Team Leader CSE 3rd Year), Projjal Sengupta (CSE 3rd Year), Tanumoy Nandy (ECE 3rd Year), Saif Arsalan (IT 3rd Year) , Murtaza Sadriwala (CSE 2nd Year) and Avantika Mishra (CSE 1st Year) has won the 1st prize for their working solution prototype to a problem statement – “The present guidelines of DOT HQ do not allow more than 9 connections to an individual” identified by the Department of Telecommunication, Government of India.
  • BPPIMT students team Ritwik Bhar, Krishanu Das, Shovon Roy, Shayan Dutta, Debdyut Hajra, Tamishra Ray wins the first prize in Smart India Hackathon 2017 under the Department of Atomic Energy on 2nd April, 2017 at Mumbai. Topic was “Brain tumors type class indication from MRI images, for large no of patients data stored in Cloud storage by AI” , inspired by Dr. T K Biswas, Radiologist.
