Function of the Cell
- To provide a structured and accessible platform for students to submit grievances related to academic and infrastructural matters.
- To examine the nature of grievances, conduct necessary inquiries, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- To ensure prompt and effective resolution of grievances within a stipulated timeframe as per institutional norms.
- To maintain impartiality and adopt a transparent process while addressing student grievances.
- To safeguard the identity of the complainant and ensure confidentiality throughout the grievance handling process.
- To interact with concerned departments, faculty members, and administrative units for effective resolution.
- To track the progress of grievance redressal and ensure closure with proper documentation.
Facilities of the Cell
- Availability of both online (through institutional portal/email) and offline (complaint box/register) mechanisms for lodging grievances.
- Installation of complaint/suggestion box at Reception to facilitate easy access for students.
- Provision of a designated room (A-Block Conference Room) to conduct SGRC meetings and confidential discussions with students.
Roles & Responsibilities
Chairperson
- To lead the SGRC and ensure effective implementation of grievance redressal policies.
- To schedule and preside over SGRC meetings for reviewing and resolving grievances.
- To ensure that all grievances are addressed in a transparent, unbiased, and time-bound manner.
- To guide the committee in arriving at appropriate decisions and recommendations.
- To ensure that sensitive matters are handled with strict confidentiality.
- To review and approve records, action taken reports, and documentation
Member
- To actively participate in SGRC meetings and deliberations.
- To review complaints objectively and gather relevant information.
- To conduct or assist in inquiry processes, interacting with concerned stakeholders.
- To suggest suitable corrective measures for grievance resolution.
- To ensure impartial handling of all cases.
- To protect the identity and privacy of complainants.
- To assist in maintaining records of grievances, proceedings, and outcomes.
- To ensure proper implementation of decisions and closure of cases.
- To guide students on grievance procedures and provide necessary support.
Student Member
- To maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- To represent student concerns in the committee.

The composition of committee comprises of:
- Principal of the College – Chairperson
- Four senior faculty members representing different departments, and out of them one member shall be female and one member from SC/ST/OBC category
