Student Mentoring Cell

Industry Institute partnership cell (IIPC) is established for bridge the gap between the institute and industry and thus enhancing the relationship among each other. This cell identifies the industrial expectation and promotes institutional preparation for meeting industrial needs by facilitating sponsored R&D projects, seminars, workshops and various other industrial training programmes. The aim of the cell is to make an effective contribution to educational system identifying the gap between academic curriculum and need of the industry. Industry Institute partnership promotes in equipping faculty to latest practices and makes the students industry-ready by providing exposure to current industry practices and hone their skills to adapt changing technologies. The primary focus of IIPC is to interact with elite industries across the country and establish partnership them.

Function of the Cell
  • Inculcate the students discipline, punctuality and regularity
  • Enable the parents to know about the performance and regularity of their wards
  • Address conflicts in attitudes, habits and knowledge of students towards learning practices
  • Establish teacher-student relationship
  • Counselling student for solving their problem and provide confidence for their personal growth
  • Guiding students to choose right career path for job, higher studies, entrepreneurship etc.
  • Conference hall/class rooms for the Mentors and Mentee interaction.
  • Notice board for circulars.
  • Internet facilities for easy communication.
  • Having a good No. of chairs and space to discuss / conduct the committee meetings.

Roles & Responsibilities of Coordinator:

  1. To coordinate mentoring and counseling committee activities.
  2. To coordinate internal resources available in the form of teaching expertise of teachers for enhancing the knowledge and skills of the students.
  3. To coordinate various external resources available in the forms of lectures, motivation speech and counseling for students.
  4. To submit the detailed report of the mentoring system to the Head of the Institution time to time.

Roles & Responsibilities of Faculty Members of the committee:

  • To Meet all the mentors of his/her department at least once in a month for the reviewing of proper implementation of the system.
  • Assist to prepare detail report of the mentoring system to the Head of the Institution time to time.
  • Communicate the suggestions/resolutions of the committee to the mentors of his/her department for implementation.
  • Help in formulating new/novel ideas for improving mentoring system
  • Organizing motivational lectures and psychological counselling sessions for the students.

Roles & Responsibilities of the Mentors:

  1. Regular interaction (weekly) with the mentees.
  2. Identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the mentees.
  3. Provide right direction to overcome weaknesses and strengthen positive attributes among mentees.
  4. Communicate with fellow faculty and promote mentees at the time of difficulty/opportunity to help them to develop further in their areas of interest.
  5. Prepare mentees to face challenges and achieve their personal and professional goals.
  6. Develop among themselves a sense of social responsibility and moral values.
  7. Interact with the parents regarding progress of the mentees.
  • Co-ordinator of the Committee
    The composition of committee comprises one senior faculty member as coordinator from Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities.
  • Faculty Members
    One faculty member each from Department of Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Master of Computer Application and Applied Sciences and Humanities.
  • All the Mentors will be a part of the Committee
