Disciplinary Committee

Function of the Cell
  • Ensuring that students are committed to the Institute’s Ethical Principles in their acts and actions
  • Taking precautions with respect to all acts and practices that may lead to the Institute’s reputation and image being harmed
  • To hear charges brought against any student
  • To consider the evidence submitted
  • To determine whether the allegation relating to the disciplinary offense has been substantiated
  • Fix a date for the disciplinary hearing and instruct the concerned to serve the notice of the disciplinary hearing upon the student charged
  • To consider and determine, after conclusion of the hearing, whether or not each charge has been proved
  • Notify the student charged of the decision in writing
  • Review the disciplinary rules and procedures from time to time and make recommendations to the appropriate Authority.
  • Conference room for the committee members for discussion/hearing.
  • Supporting staffs to carry out administrative procedures.

Chairperson:

  1. Ensure that all parties are given the opportunity to state their case
  2. Ensure that correct procedure is followed to determine if the student is guilty of the accused misconduct
  3. Listen to all the evidence presented during the hearing and adjourn after the hearing to study the evidence
  4. Finding of guilty or not guilty based on presented evidence
  5. Recommendation regarding an appropriate sanction in line with the disciplinary code

Coordinator:

  1. Creating awareness among students about Institute’s values and principles.
  2. Contributing to policy formation and strategic planning.
  3. Oversee standards pertaining to the discipline, and preservation of disciplinary integrity in consultation with the appropriate Authority.
  4. Review the disciplinary rules and procedures in consultation with committee members and Institute Head.
  5. Carrying out procedures of collecting evidence to support investigation process.
  6. Ensuring appropriate implementation of the sanction inline with recommendation of the chairperson.
  7. Maintenance of all records pertaining to the complaint and hearing process, appeal etc.

Invited Members:

  1. Representing the true facts and feedback of parties involved to facilitate the hearing process.
  2. Collecting information relevant to the the investigation procedure.
  • The Principal as the Chairperson of the committee.
  • The Registrar as the Coordinator of the committee.
  • One Senior faculty member and Associate Professor from Computer Science & Engineering department as committee member.
  • One Senior faculty member and Associate Professor from Basic Science and Humanities department as committee member.
  • Department Head of the concerned student as Invited Member.
  • Class Coordinator of the concerned student as Invited Member.
