Industrial Visit at Powergrid Corporation of India, Subhashgram
Event Report
Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering jointly with SPIE student chapter BPPIMT, organized a one day Industrial Visit at Powergrid Corporation of India, Subhashgram, on 18.11.22. Total 41 students from 2nd, 3rd and 4th year participated in this industrial visit accompanied by 3 faculty members from the department.
It started with introductory presentation about the sub-station by the officials of Powergrid. After that Mr. Dayanad Kumar, Mr. Priyam Maity, Mr. A.K.Mishra, Mr. C.B.Singh explained in detail the working principle of 220 KV and 400 KV switchyard, auto transformer, Relay, control room etc. They also discussed about the various processes involved in transmission of electricity to CESC and WBSEDCL.
It was a very good and effective experience for the students and the whole visit was very much interactive. Thanks to Mr. Amal Pal, The Senior General Manager, PGCIL for giving us this opportunity.
