The Electrical Machines Laboratory provides comprehensive practical exposure to the operation, testing, and performance evaluation of electrical machines. It accommodates 30 students per batch with an 80% utilization rate per week during both odd and even semesters. The lab is equipped with DC Motor–Generator sets, DC Series Motor–Generator sets with control panels, DC Motor–Alternator sets, squirrel cage and slip-ring induction motor setups, single-phase and three-phase transformers, three-phase variacs, and load banks. A complete supply and distribution system with switch fuse units, MCCBs, and both AC and DC power boards ensures safe and flexible operation. Typical experiments include load tests, speed control, efficiency determination, and open- and short-circuit tests on transformers and machines. The laboratory effectively bridges theory and practice, enabling students to understand machine characteristics, operational behaviour, and performance analysis essential for real-world electrical engineering applications.
